Apple And Security

Yesterday was a bad day for Apple's Mac OS X claim to be relatively secure.

At CanSecWest's PWN TO OWN competition, a Macbook Air was compromised within 2 minutes on the second day of the competition. Note the competition conditions, as the days go by rules are relaxed and the prize money goes down. Charlie Miller, from Independent Security Evaluators (ISE), said it took him and his ISE colleagues a week to find and design an exploit.

Folks at Tidbits agree that this appears to be a real vulnerabilitiy in Safari.
