LaO1-xFxFeAs

See? You should have paid more attention during chemistry classes.

Lanthanum-Oxygen-Fluorine-Iron-Arsenic.

It has been hailed as the second family of 'high-temperature' superconductor, the other being Copper-Oxygen (A.K.A. Cuprates).

High temperature here means 26 kelvin or, uh..., -247.16 C.

*Phew* that's mighty warm ain't it?

And.

Physiscists (the condensed matter variety) still do not know what makes superconductors tick.
