Stanley Kubrick's 'Barry Lyndon'

Odd that this film should be mentioned in two blogs covering different topics and catering to different crowds.

Odder still, it is not about the film, per se.

It is about that magnificent Zeiss 50mm f/0.7 lens that Kubrick used for that film.

That magnificent, wondrous, special lens allowed Kubrick to film using only the light from candles. Giving as a view of "...what life by candlelight really looked like" according to Mike Johnston.

Unfortunately, both sites link to an article in italian.
