With last years Xbox 360 recall brouhaha.
Microsoft designed the graphic chip for Xbox 360 in-house and dealing with a chip foundry directly. Bypassing chip design firm saved it millions.
But the recall cost Microsoft billions.
And untold damage to its reputation.
But that is akin to a stabbing someone that has already been hung, drawn and quartered. It matters not one whit.
It appears that Microsoft may have said 'penny saved, penny earned' once too often.
