Microsoft does not sell smartphones or dumbphones or any other phones.
They sell the operating system that they call, for the moment, Windows Mobile version 'I don't remember'.
Just like the fact Microsoft does not sell computers...
So this statement is silly:

By the Great Gratuitous Ganzar! Over 150 models and they only sell by a margin of less than 3 to 1 over the lone Apple offering?
The fact that most analysts, of varying level of intelligence and competence, often make it sound like a two-way race between Apple and Blackberry.
How grindingly annoying it must be to the No.2 in smartphone sales.
Hence, this PR piece or press release. Microsoft wants you to get its own version of The Truth.
