'Bitch' not only is crossing gender line (feminine to masculine) but appears to be also used connote admiration/complement much like 'bad' was used to complement a feat.
'Asshole', on the other hand, appears to be exclusively masculine in its application.
And it appears lexicographers, of which I do not claim as one, do take out the fun in profanities.
