Apple is one of personal computing pioneer, one of the last surviving, in fact, along with Microsoft.
Commodore, Atari, Sinclair, Radio Shack...
But Apple made for a poor pioneer as it let IBM PC and Microsoft dominate personal computing.
On the other hand...
Apple was considered to be late in entering the personal digital music player market but it has now dominated that market.
Apple was considered to be foolhardy in entering the cutthroat cellular phone market but it has now gained a significant market share that is rather profitable.
So... consider Apple the Follower.
