Unflatteringly, I might add.

Of course one commenter pointed out Rolling Stone is only qualified to report on music.

Rubbish, I say.

Can There Be Conviction Via Unconstitutional Searches?

Techdirt post reminded me the times that I, too, wondered.

That post relates how a conviction resulting from bad data from a US government database. The US Supreme Court is set to examine the case.

So, can a Supreme Court affirm convictions based on unconstitutional searches?

NATO To Russia: Knock it off!

NATO talking tough against Russia?

Ha!

Germany buys about half of it's natural gas from Russia.

The rest of Europe need Russian gas, too.

NATO is certainly giving Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin sleepless nights.

Ha!

Oh, by the way, I did not notice it before but Putin's middle indicates that he is junior.

Texas Teacher Gunslingers

Somewhere in Texas, teachers are now allowed to carry concealed firearms.

Times have changed.

As a note... it says firearms, so if you have a tall teacher he/she can cram a Ma Deuce into his/her extremely baggy pants, sling bandolier across their chest...

On a more practical note, a M249 paratrooper version would be easier to hide.

Obama On McCain Et Al...

When Obama suggest proper tire inflation to save gas.

McCain, et al, snorted derisively and referred to that suggestion as Obama's 'Energy Policy'.

I agree with Obama here when he said: “...it’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant.”

No Steve, Bad Steve

Steve The Ballmer is hinting on a Zune phone in a memo to Microsofters.

It's the same memo where Steve The Ballmer acknowledges that Apple, as run by Steve The Jobs, is doing something right by stressing 'end to end' user experience.

But.

No copying this time like the iPod-look-a-like Zune, okay?

Steve The Ballmer, yous got do your own thaing...

Mbeki And Zimbabwe

The world seems to hold an opinion that South African President Thabo Mbeki is invaluable in ending the problem, that has become a crisis, that is Zimbabwe.

A most delightful display of naive silliness.

Thabo Mbeki engages Robert Mugabe in discussions and dialogs.

Much like what ASEAN is doing with Myanmar. And the results are very much non-existent.

This is also the same Thabo Mbeki who refuses to recognize HIV as a health problem in South Africa and is of the opinion that it is only a white man's disease.

Taking into account political inertia, the world should, instead, shift their focus on Jacob Zuma, the putative next President of South Africa.

Perhaps Jacob Zuma would be much more helpful.

$100,000,000,000

One hundred billion Zimbabwe Dollar bank note to fight a Two million percent inflation.

Astounding stupidity callously piled atop previous stupidity.

Up next: One hundred gazillion Zimbabwe Dollar note.
