Apple won one Black Pencil each for the iMac and the iPhone.
D&AD Black Pencil is awarded to design that meets absolute criteria instead of relative criteria (i.e. not as 'best for 2008' but the best). On some years, Black Pencil was not awarded as no design were able to pass muster.
